I just came across this because my life is always jumping out from under the bus whence I throw the squealing brat, to find the concentrated equipoise and essential sprezzatura, the ferocious drool of attentive genius to liberate the not-quite-pathological-but-near-obsessional perspective from the Utility of Doubt that blocks the mightiest attempt to see my stuff as “quite sufficiently polished.” Way too often does “perfection” become the enemy of “polish.” To which end I’ve gone little further than submitting, and only to a small cluster of insane optimists to whom a letter from the IRS might put an exhausting, but without fail applauded, loving cantle of their generosity. So, to my point: how often do these opportunities arise? How much lead time do I have before the next might come along?

So if we subscribe to the monthly plan, we do have to pay for the application? Did I understand that correctly?

That's correct. Yearly subscribers can apply for free as a part of their subscription. We email a free application link to said folks. For anyone who is experiencing hardship, we're happy to permit free application on a case by case basis. Appreciate your inquiry! Thanks for reading.
